If you started writing your new year's goals, we invite you to stop and focus for a minute on yourself: taking care of your body and mind should always be your number one goal, because without either of those functioning well, the rest of our lives and goals are frankly useless.
There's an old proverb that says: "Start how you are meant to finish" so what better time than the new year to say goodbye to the old you and say hello to a new healthier, fresher and ultimately happier you.
You probably woke up with a hangover today after last night NYE celebration but don't worry, we'll keep it simple and list 3 simple tips to get you started.
1. Get a facial
Whether you are in your 20's 30's 40's, 50's or older, taking care of your skin is essential.
After all the parties and the over indulging done, a good facial is just what you need to restore the well being of your skin; and if you are looking for a really special one, then why not book a Signature Facial session with the legendary Su Man who will be in-house at the idyllic AWAY spa at W Resort & Spa in the Maldives between January 5th and January 20th.
Su Man's signature facials are legendary for re-balancing energy and skin moisture as well as reinvigorating all face muscles and surrounding areas. The long-lasting results for a healthy, lifted and luminous skin have been described as a natural alternative to botox.

2. Take on a sport
The secret to exercise is do what you enjoy. If you don't enjoy running for example, you may start, but after the novelty wears off, you'll give up. Trust us, we've been there an done that!
However, if you do something that you enjoy, it won't feel a chore to exercise.
We like disciplines that keep us on a spot and engage both body and mind with concentration, as we strengthen my body. For this, we found to enjoy both Yoga and Pilates. If you have been curious about them, why not try a few classes?
Don't make your mind up with only 1 class, it's most likely to disappoint you, because your body is not used to it, but
seeing after 3-4 classes how you improved is amazing.
If you feel that you're still far from wanting to attend a class, you may exercise in the comfort of your own home.
The Surya Namaskara or Sun Salutation done in Yoga, is for instance, a great way to stretch and get all of your body working when you wake up in the morning.
Below is a video we show at AWAY spa at the W Resort & Spa Maldives, where the Yoga instructor kindly showcased some routines and positions.
3. Add colors to your diet
It's well known that colors affect the way we feel, so how about let them affect positively our diet too?
Whether you are looking to loose weight or simply wanting to fuel your body with good nutrients, colorful fruits and vegetables are just the tickets.
Start your day with a plate sure to please your stomach and your sight.
Orange, yellow and red fruits like the mango, pineapple and watermelon in this photo, for instance are filled with Carotenoid vitamin C and Lycopene, amazing anti-oxidants and they are delicious.
