If there's something that's widely loved in Dubai, that something is: meat!
Whether presented as a mixed grill, a spicy curry or a juicy burger, we can safely say many of us living in this carnivore's jungle have possible gotten into arguments when discussing which is "the best" steak, ribs, or grill!
Personally, I feel there are many elements that contribute to make a restaurant excellent, but the main one

in my opinion is whether I can memorize the flavor of the food I ate, so let me tell you about a recent experience. A couple of days ago, I paid a visit to Soho Bar & Grill at the Century Village in Garhoud. I loved the edgy style that features an urban and industrial design and makes the ambiance feel welcoming and down to earth, yet with the lighting it feels festive and even romantic; in a few words, the kind of place where you know you will have a good time!
I ordered different dishes to have a little variety and ended up with BBQ'd wings and beef ribs and short beef ribs with chicken tenders. All accompanied from crunchy fries, onion rings and a delicious Caprese salad. A whole American dinner that actually was way better than many similar dinners I've had in the States.
You might think that statement is a bit ambitious, but I will tell you why I am saying this: being of Mediterranean origins, I love food that has simple but bold flavors. I am not a fan of smothering sauces that overpower the food so much that all you can taste is the sauce and the salty seasoning. A sauce or glaze should complement or enhance the flavor of the ingredients, not abolish it. Unfortunately many restaurants that serve meat, and particularly those with an American menu, do just that: smother the meat so much that it should be called "BBQ Sauce with ribs" rather than "Ribs with BBQ Sauce".
Soho Bar & Grill does not belong to these types of restaurants, and this is the reason why I am saying it was better than the many places where I tried similar food. The beef was so perfectly slow cooked and tender that it was coming off the bone. The BBQ sauce was delicate, with a delicious tangy accent that complemented the meat's flavor without becoming too intense and definitely created a flavorful memory in my taste buds,
Dinner was concluded by a classic favorite of ours: warm apple pie served with vanilla ice cream. This was just as delicious as the main course and it was lovely to see that care and attention was given from start to end on the preparation of these dishes and the service.
