Although a good 15 years have passed, I still remember vividly the first time I walked into La Porte des Indes in London, just as if it were yesterday.
This unassuming corner entrance located at the back of Marble Arch station, didn't prepare me for what was to come. It was like entering Imperial India. And if you haven't been to La Porte des Indes I will not spoil the surprise for you, but rest assured it is like nothing else you've ever seen in London!!

My favourite part ofLa Porte des Indes interior decor beside the warm orange on the walls and whites and greens was the stair case! Coming down that stair case as you were accompanied to your table by the host was like descending the stairs at a debutantes' ball.
And I most definitely I was a debutante back then, a debutante in Indian cuisine!

Here I had my first bite to a thali that was authentic.
I shared many happy evenings with my best friend and indeed this restaurant holds some of my fondest memories with friends and loved ones so, you can imagine my excitement upon hearing a while ago that they were bringing it to Dubai!

LaPorte des Indes is located at the Address Hotel Dubai Mall. You can easily access it by parking your car in the Fashion Avenue car park near the hotel entrance. The venue hosts a bar, lounge and restaurant in an ambiance completely different from its sisters' venues of London and Brussels.
The modern and chic interiors are complimented by blue and rosy hues. There is a separate bar area, perfect for you to indulge before or after dinner or just retreat for a break with friends leaving the hustle of fashion avenue and its shoppers out. A floor to ceiling wine cooler separates the bar from the main restaurant and lounge area. Here stylish guests can taste the scrumptious flavors of the menu crafted by acclaimed Chef Mehernosh Mody.
The menu offers a selection of tantalizing dishes that are characteristic of the famous Pondicherry region of India where Indian and Gallic cuisines beautifully blend together. Even though I was hoping that the Dubai's venue would immortalize the romantic and dreamy interiors as much as its European counterparts, I do recommend you to visitLa Porte des Indes for a vibrant culinary treat sure to impress you and then if you are looking for an evening of added extravaganza try the cocktails!
