Remember when last year we told you how hooked we got on Power?
On Saturday August 15th Starz TV hit show Power aired its 10th episode thus concluding season 2 and may we say what season has this been!! The dust hasn't even settled on the #Powerfinale and social media like a busy bee is still buzzing coming to terms with what Courtney Kemp Agboh, Power's creator and the whole Power team put us through, but we already have thoughts on what's going to happen in Season 3.
Before we do that though, let's start with a season 2 recap first...

KANAN INTENSIFIES HIS REVENGE PLANS

By the end of Season 1 we saw how Kanan started planting his seeds of distruction by lying to Ghost and telling him that Rolla was not aligning with him anymore which resulted in Ghost killing Rolla.
Season 2 begins with Kanan getting out of jail and intensifying his plan to take revenge on the unaware Ghost by manipulating his own son, Shawn.
It is still not clear at this moment, and until mid season why Kanan has it so bad for Ghost, there are hints that it's Ghost and Tommy's fault for Kanan's prison stretch and we only learn the exact details in the final episodes.
The one thing crystal clear from the very start of season 2 of Power, it's that Kanan is a man on a mission and nothing is going to stop him, as we'll find out when his own son Shawn doesn't carry out Jamie's murder as instructed.

GHOST & ANGELA: CATFISHING EACH OTHER
One of the things that baffled us in Season 1 was how could it be possible that Ghost never asked Angela about her job. Whether because he was blinded by his attraction to her, or whether because he was busy handling the club and the drug cartel, Ghost never really dug deep into Angela's work, thing that will almost cost him dear in Season 2.
Determined to chase after the girl who attempted to kill him, Ghost heads to Miami with the excuse to talk to other clubs on behalf of the company to whom he lost temporarily his club to. Ghost extends to Angela an invite to join him. Of course sprung Miss Angela Valdez follows him and the two share some romantic moments, fueling their dream of a life together like a normal couple.

Back in New York, the two return to reality. Angela closes up on who she thinks "Ghost" is, by interrogating on and off record Holly, Tommy's girlfriend. Angela builds her case by thinking that Ghost is Tommy but is up for a shock when Holly reveals to her that James is in fact Ghost. Angela asks Holly to bring her proof and when Holly finally does, isn't clear what Angela is going to choose until the very end...but it's easy to guess, right?
HELL HATH NO FURY
The hunch that we had about Natasha St. Patrick in Season 1 proves correct in Season 2. We did tell you not to be fooled by Tasha and she comes through on time like a Japanese high speed train. After discovering James/Ghost's affair and him telling her he'd end it, Tasha gives him a final shot, the few flirting moves she made on Shawn, the family's driver and Kanan's son end, as she tells her friend "James and I are good now!"
However, her female's 6th sense, still kicks in and she starts making plans to protect herself and the kids should things not work out with James.
However, her female's 6th sense, still kicks in and she starts making plans to protect herself and the kids should things not work out with James.
She follows up her intuition by calling the hotel that James stayed at in Miami and they asked her if she "enjoyed her massage".
That's the moment when every woman who's been lied to identifies with Natasha St. Patrick
and we absolutely loved her reaction: she doesn't kick up a fuss by calling James, or shouting abuse to him, oh no....she simply packs his stuff, changes the code to their penthouse and ignores his attempts to contact her.
From here on we see a switch in Tasha, the switch that women take when they had enough. When she the finds out who Angela really is, it gets even better! She starts to lay down the law for James ordering him to: "keep fu**ing her, until I tell you to stop!!".

Go Tasha!
That's what we screamed at our TV, whilst James had this look on his face of a man who knows better than argue with his woman! From that point onward, Tasha takes on the role that's been waiting for her. She stops Tommy from killing Angela, when Tommy is not longer listening to James, and on a few |
occasions keeps tabs on her husband reminding him who he is and what is at stake. Disillusioned with her marriage, and feeling that danger is closing in, she makes a move on Shawn and the two make plans to run away together.
TOMMY & HOLLY EMBARK THE LOCO TRAIN

Just like many viewers we have grown fond of Tommy Egan. He's a lovable crazy guy who despite the criminal life, wears his heart on his sleeve, knows a thing or two about loyalty and has a soft spot for red heads.
His relationship with Truth's bartender Holly is on the move up and James doesn't like that, because Holly seems to stick her head where it doesn't belong to and James knows she'll end up causing troubles, so he orders her to fake a fight with Tommy and leave him.
When she finally confesses to Tommy what's she's been up to thinking that he'll choose her over Ghost, she is in for shock. Tommy totally looses it, the two have a major fight and she takes off. Not long later she has second thoughts because she seems to genuinely love him. She goes back and reveals to him that Ghost made her go, giving to him the money and new ID as proof.

GHOST vs KANAN IN THE SEASON FINALE
This is the scene that ultimately the whole season 2 is leading up to. By the end it's kind of confusing who's siding with whom. There's plenty people doubling sides that at one point we stopped trying to guess who was telling the truth!
Kanan has been doing all in his power to set up everyone in the cartel against Ghost but Ghost has always been a step ahead until the finale when they challenge each other.
There're a few minutes of fist fighting and getting thrown around, until Ghost stabs Kanan with a piece of broken glass then proceeds on soaking him with gasoline and sets him on fire.
It seems that the matter is finally settled. Ghost takes care of killing everyone in the cartel including Lobos their main supplier but fails.

OUR THOUGHTS ON WHAT TO EXPECT IN SEASON 3 OF POWER
You know that a show is brilliant from how much you talk about it when it's ended. For the past 10 weeks after each episode, discussing Power's plot line has been one of our favorite activities here at Simply Doozy. We created several suppositions on what may or may not have happened each time getting more animated about it. We all have our favorites and those we love to hate...but the bottom line is, it's been a long time since a TV show gripped us to the point of igniting so many discussions as Power has and this is a credit to its writing team!
The Season 2 summary leaves a bunch of questions for season 3 and what we think that may happen is that Jamie will try to make a life with Angela, in New York or perhaps Miami, but the old life will definitely haunt him.
Especially now that he has a contract over his head. What would be interesting to find out is whether Tommy will tell him what Lobos is up to or will he just try to kill Jamie? We think that it could go 2 ways: a) the 2 will come to a clash resulting in Jamie killing Tommy, thing that he will regret and will consume him, or b) their friendship will prevail and together they kill Lobos and anyone on their way, with a few deaths (like Angela's for example) as collateral damage, proving to Jamie he needs to accept his destiny as a drug Kingpin.
At the beginning of Season 3, we'll witness a Tasha that's broken because she's thinking that Jamie killed Shawn, but we're sure she'll find out the truth, and will probably want to kill Jamie anyway once she finds out he did not end it with Angela.
We think that Angela will get killed at some point, whether by the hand of Tasha or Tommy or because she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time, we doubt that she will last too long. Perhaps if she dies this is what will drive Jamie to return to his old ways.
There's something going on between Lobos and the lead investigator for the DA's office, we'll see how that pans out.
As for Kanan...we know he'll be back but who's going to back him?
Whether Power ends at completion of Season 3 or stretches to a Season 4, we don't think that Jamie will end up living his dream of a being a legit business man because his past life will catch up with him, until eventually it will set its debt once for all.
